On Saturday, March 1, His Eminence and faithful of the Archdiocese gathered together at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Allison Park to pray and prepare for the upcoming Great Lent. The day began with a Molebein service, followed by a presentation by Archpriest Victor Gorodenchuk, Dean of St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Philadelphia, who will be speaking on the topic: “The Book of Job: Suffering and Victory of Christ over Satan.” More than just a simple allegory to instruct us to "always do God's Will," Father Victor delved into the symbolism foreshadowing Christ's incarnation and resurrection in order to give us a deeper understanding of the Church's reading it during the services of Holy Week.
