On the evening of Sunday April 7, clergy and faithful from around the Archdiocese gathered to pray together at the Saint St. Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral in Allison Park. His Eminence Archbishop Melchisedek presided over the gathering while the Chancellor, Archpriest William Evansky, led the evening service. Following the service, everyone moved downstairs for a wonderful agape meal. 

This event takes place annually on the Sunday of the Cross, when Orthodox Christians place the cross in the center of the church for the whole following week, not only to remind men of Christ’s redemption, but also to be venerated as that reality by which man must live to be saved.
