Though the weather was still a bit misty, the faithful of Holy Resurrection Church, West Brownsville hosted clergy and laity from around the upper Monongahela River valley for the annual Blessing of the river on Sunday, January 28. Everyone first gathered inside the little church on the banks of the river for the beginning of the rite, and then proceeded to the nearby bridge to bless the riiver by tossing in crosses made of frozen holy water. Afterwards, all enjoyed good fellowship in the parish hall.
