The faithful of Holy Assumption of St. Mary Church in Southside Pittsburgh hosted an Advent Retreat Sunday December 10, 2023 at 1pm. Peter Gagianas, MD, offered his presentation entitled THE CRUCIFIXION AND RESURRECTION OF CHRIST: A Medical Perspective. In his talk, Dr Gagiana discussed the medical aspects of the Crucifixion and the medical proofs of the Resurrection.

Dr Gagiana is an Orthodox Christian and is a member of the Metropolis Council of the Greek Metropois of Pittsburgh. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at UPMC St. Margaret. He has practiced medicine since 1990. He also was a clinical instructor and preceptor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
